Acrylic adhesives
Acrylic adhesives are radically curing mono- or prepolymers. Through controlled application of UV light the photoinitiators are split into free radicals, which initiate the formation of polymer chains.
The reaction with free radicals results in the very short curing times of acrylates. They can be cured with both UV gas discharge lamps and UV LED lamps. Some special acrylic adhesives also cure under visible light. These acrylic adhesives are used, for example, for bonding UV-impermeable plastics or glass.
The benefits of acrylic adhesives:
- Can be used in a wide variety of applications
- Fast curing
- Excellent adhesion
- Wide range of viscosities
- Wide range of characteristics, from soft and flexible to hard, from unfilled to filled, or from mobile to gel-like
With its Vitralit®-series Panacol provides a large portfolio of acrylic adhesives.
Acrylic adhesives cure very fast under UV light and for example are used for mass production of battery packs
